There's a theory called the last meeting. Once you and someone you loved have learned what you needed from each other, you'll never cross paths again. It doesn't matter if you live ten minutes away. Doesn't matter if you have the same friends, go to the same places. You won't run into each other. Not in any real way. Because whatever you needed to teach each other is done. And I know part of you is still waiting. Thinking maybe you'll see them somewhere and everything will click back into place. That you'll lock eyes and it'll all make sense again. But the truth is, your last goodbye probably already happened. You just didn't know it was the last time. No closure, no final conversation. Just a regular day that turned out to be the end. That's hard to accept

But what you had was real. It mattered. It changed you. Even if it couldn't last.
